Featured on this article is the 20w IP66 Ultra Thin Outdoor Security LED Flood Light by Zitrades. The package contains the following items:
- LED light
- remote control – with battery included!
- instruction manual
- warranty card
It certainly has a slimmer design, compared to regular security outdoor floodlights which are bulkier (though the “ultra thin” description is subjective, I think). It has an adjustable bracket in the back if you just want to set the light down on the ground. Just adjust accordingly, depending on how you want the light pointed. The bracket also has pre-drilled holes in the back if you actually want to mount the light to a post, a tree, or some part of your house. There are no screws included with the package, so make sure you buy yourself a set of screws if you want to mount the light somewhere. I prefer to have the unit on the ground, pointing upwards, but you could do whatever you want with this. It just depends on your needs.
I included the photo below so you can take a look at the LED portion of the unit. You will have different colors of light coming out of that square section in the middle. The material on the side for reflective purposes does a decent job. They are angled to give you the most light distribution, which I don’t have any issues with.
One thing that is very important to note is the remote control; make sure you don’t lose the remote control! It’s the “brains” of the unit. I’m glad that it comes with a battery; it is protected with a clear tab to save the battery juice while in storage, so make sure you pull that tab out first before using, or you will get no power and the remote control will not respond. There’s different functions on the battery, and you can control what kind of light is emitted. I love the different options that are available, and was quite delighted at the different options available!
- green, blue, red, and white for the main basic colors
- multiple buttons with varying color schemes to choose from!
- strobe light function

Now, you can see what I mean when I say you can’t afford to miss the remote control. Without it, you won’t be able to use the features above, and the light won’t even turn on. I tried to look, but I don’t see any manual over-rides on the unit itself. Of course, one of the advantages of the remote control is that you can control the light settings and functions from a distance, without the need to go outside and mess with the unit in the dark.
Just to give you an idea, here are some photos with the various LED colors emitted.
Red – nice option for Valentine’s Day, Memorial/Veterans Day, July 4 Independence Day, and other occassions
Blue – often associated with peace and tranquility
Green – I think the green gives the brightest lumen of the 3. In my opinion, I’d prefer to use this at night in the backyard without disturbing or scaring off the wildlife. We often get deer and other critters in the woods on the back, and the green light is a non-obtrusive option.
By the way, you’ll have to buy extra accessories before being able to use this LED light. The LED unit has a power cord extending out of the back with open positive and negative wires, which needs to be connected to your power source. I happen to have a power adapter/converter at home, so I was able to use this without any problem. You can also purchase an adapter for use with a DC battery, like the one from your vehicle. Remember, this is a 12V unit. Don’t attempt to connect this directly to your 120-volt AC wall outlet; you don’t want to find out what will happen!
Just in case you are interested in finding out where you can buy this, the 20w IP66 Ultra Thin Outdoor Security LED Flood Light by Zitrades is currently being offered at Amazon at a 37% discount at the time of this writing.
Overall, I am satisfied with this product. Now I just have to see how long it will last (=
